Coastal catches recently have improves with the larger sized halibuts 30- 40lb fish— try deep water 120 ft or there abouts- you don’t need that trailer hook those bigger fish just engulf the baits- water temps 58 degrees here on the beach this morning — making bait mackerel tough this am — bring some frozen squid if you headed out— Sat Feb the 21 2026 , Clear sky cold air at 45/47 degrees this AM- warming in the sunshine- light marine haze seaward- seas still calm with a light west 2-3 kt wind- , inshore waters off-color, same in the bays and harbors- sunlight and phosphate/ rainwater enriched waters promote chlorophyll growth on the phytoplankton - “green water” Stand by on a limited budget —Yikes— gave them some old lures, hooks and leader material and sold them a Cedar Plug - wish them safe travel s— Nov 5 2025—- Cloudy and cooler — wind light from the west 3 -4 kts+ seas still looks good- light chop on it— Tides still racing in and out— almost 3 kts draining today- No major quakes so far
